Tomato rice with “Greek salad” sauce

300 gr. rice Karolina Agros of Pindos
1 kilo of ripe tomatoes, ground
1 jar “Greek salad” sauce  with feta cheese, olives and oregano Simply Greek for Wise Greece
200ml of water
4 cloves of garlic
100ml olive oil
Some sugar
Salt Pepper

Cooking Instructions:

Put the olive oil in a deep wok-type pan and sauté the garlic slightly so that it does not turn black and bitter. Add the rice, sauté for another 2 minutes and then add the tomatoes, the jar of “Greek salad”, salt and pepper and a little bit of sugar. Wait for it to boil and then lower the heat to a simmer. When the tomato liquid starts to reduce, add the water and let it boil until the rice is soft, without any liquids. Serve with a little extra virgin olive oil and some fresh oregano if desired.
