A wonderful and highly innovative recipe, which comes directly from Bariamis family!
Who said that the submarine can be enjoyed exclusively in the traditional way? The submarine, the same one that our grandmother used to treat us, can be used in confectionery in several ways! This time, we use it as glaze on cupcakes!
Ingredients for 12 cupcakes:
250 g. Farina wholemeal flour for cakes
125 g. butter or margarine
220 g. sugar (preferably soft brown sugar)
2 eggs
150 ml milk
1 vanilla
2 teaspoon cinnamon
12 cupcake cases
1 baking tray with 12 positions for cupcakes
For the glaze:
3 tablespoons Bariamis Mastic submarine sweet
Colorful candy for decorating (optional)
Cooking instructions:
Beat the butter or margarine with the sugar in the mixer.
Pour one by one the eggs and add vanilla. Continue by beating for more 3 minutes.
Add consecutively the flour, the milk and the cinnamon, while stirring lightly.
Put the cupcake cases in the positions on the baking tray.
Then split the mixture in the cases and bake for 35 minutes in a preheated moderate oven.
Let the cupcakes cool down and then take them out of the baking tray.
Put 3 tablespoons Bariamis mastic submarine in a bowl and heat for 1-2 minutes in the microwave so that it becomes a fluid mixture. Alternatively, we heat it in a small saucepan taking care not stick.
With a spatula or a spoon, pour the frosting on each cupcake. It is advisable to place the candies on our cupcakes while the glaze is still warm. If the glaze cools down, reheat and repeat the procedure.
