Shrimp Saganaki

Ingredients

500 g cleaned shrimp

3 tbsp Green & Blu organic extra virgin olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

1 Florina red pepper, sliced into strips

400 g chopped tomatoes (or 2 fresh tomatoes, grated)

100 ml ouzo or white wine

150 g crumbled feta cheese

1 tsp Wise Greece Exclusive thyme honey

1 tsp sweet paprika

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

 

Instructions

In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the pepper and shrimp, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the shrimp begin to color. Deglaze with ouzo or wine and let the alcohol evaporate. Add the tomatoes, honey, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Add the feta and stir gently until it melts slightly.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
