Tell us a bit about yourself. How did you get started? What inspired you to get into the food industry?
Melissokipos was born in December 2019, continuing our family business that has been working with bees and bee products since 2004. We’ve always been interested in the production process and the quality of the products we consume daily.
Our love for honey and the belief that we could offer something different to the market led us to create the “Melenia” line and focus on producing high-quality, nutritious products.

Our products stand out because they combine natural ingredients that are both nutritious and tasty. They feature innovative flavor combinations, making them ideal for people who want to eat healthily without compromising on taste. They contain no sugar, preservatives, or artificial colorings.

Creamed Honey: The fine crystallization process doesn’t alter the structure or nutritional value of honey but gives it a unique texture and flavor. Creamed honey spreads like butter and, unlike liquid honey, doesn’t drip or make a mess. This raw, unheated honey is ideal for children.

Creamed Honey with Almond: Combining honey with almond butter offers a rich taste and delivers nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats.

Melenia with Hazelnut and Melenia with Almond: These products combine the natural sweetness of honey with the deep flavor of carob. They are highly beneficial to health, as they contain calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, and vitamins A, B1, B2, and D. Carobs contain about 4% protein, 76% carbohydrates, and healthy fats from tahini and nuts. Our hazelnut and almond butters are perfect for those seeking a nutritious and traditional-tasting spread.

Using local raw materials is a way to return to authenticity and tradition while offering products that not only meet consumer needs but also contribute to strengthening the Greek economy.
Are there any of your products that you particularly favor?
We don’t single out one product over another—we believe that each of our spreads has its own value. Each one offers something unique, whether it’s nutritional value, taste, or ease of use. For example, the Melenia spreads are ideal for praline lovers. The creamed honey is perfect for those who prefer a clean, pure flavor. Creamed honey with almond is a treat for almond lovers.
Another key feature is that all our products are free from added sugar, colorings, and preservatives.
Can Greek producers make a difference during a crisis?
